WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS? It is ‘Alternative Credit Data’ that is used for determining the creditworthiness of young, thin file borrowers.
HOW DOES YOUR DATA PREDICT CREDIT LOSSES? The most reliable predictor of credit delinquency is the probability of job loss. We have calculated the probability of ‘involuntary separation from employment’ within the next 12 months for over 180 occupations. This is one of the key values provided to you in our reports. HOW DO LENDERS AND LANDLORDS USE THIS INFORMATION? It is used in conjunction with existing credit reports to provide a more comprehensive picture of borrowers’ creditworthiness. Credit scores provide insights regarding the borrowers’ past. We provide data which shows the probability of the borrower meeting their financial obligations in the future.
WHAT BORROWERS IS THIS INFORMATION APPLICABLE TO? Primarily, ‘young, thin file borrowers’. Persons who are typically 30 yrs old or less generally have less established credit histories (thin file), and this cohort is our area of expertise.
HOW RELIABLE IS THE CREDIT DATA THAT YOU OFFER? Since 2010, our parent company has used the same data in providing actuarial services to student lenders and student debt collectors.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? $1 per report.
Lastly, our system is anonymous regarding borrower identity, gender and ethnicity. This means that we will not ask you for any Personally Identifying Information (PII) in the application process. As such, the risk of security and related legal issues are greatly reduced. The report you receive from our system will of course not reflect any identifying characteristics of the specific borrower. If will reflect the financial characteristics of persons whom are similarly situated in the stated occupation.
